Hot Karl's 405 Union Ave. gets sidewalk'd.

Things are finally shaping up on hot Karl's 405 union ave. The ugly green monster shown in the first picture, has finally been torn down. A nice fresh sidewalk is being paved, for future hipsters to stumble home on. This is actually the side entrance, I will post get some pictures of the front soon. The building looks nice on the outside, can't wait to see the finishes on the inside. The Union ave. triangle is finally shaping up.

In the TV show Fringe; Williamsburg is a borough of Boston!

In an incredibly amateur move, the producers of Fringe decided Williamsburg could become a mysterious borough of Boston. They even had the balls to do the shooting in broad daylight. After showing a sweeping shot of Boston, the bad guy crosses a green bridge and ends up on Kent Ave! He then proceeded to drive right by the Mega-development the Edge. Finally, he parks his truck in that home supply warehouse by the water. When I saw the Williamsburg bridge in the shot, I knew something was wrong-LOL!

Fringe pretends Studio B is a vampire club in boston.

The hipster haven Studio B, was used for an episode of Fringe a few weeks back. The Fringe producers, decided to transform it into a club frequented by vampires. While that might be true, the actual location used was 259 banker st. in Greenpoint.

Scarano’s 365 union Ave. is finally putting the finishing touches on the ground floor. A pair of sinister black garage doors has been installed. Will this be for parking or storage? It is hard to tell at this point, but the world is waiting for this darkness to finally be finished.

A Mysterious hipster art bandit has struck again! The hipster anti-banking movement is still in full force. “Arrogance, Ignorance, and Greed” is their revised AIG slogan. Judging by the amount of empty condos behind 224 Wythe Avenue, they might be right. Information is still scarce on what will be going in this site of a former furniture warehouse. What is known is that the Chetrit Group is the owners of the lot. The foundation is down for what looks like a relatively large condo. Bankers are advised to stay away from this area, or they could be burned.

Open house tour of 125 North 10th

The Robert Scarano designed twin buildings are located in the Burg, on 10th and 11th. Despite the institutional white exterior, the apartments in the north 10th building are actually pretty nice. I decided to take the tour, to see if the inside was nicer than the outside. Foot traffic was brisk, and around ten other couples came in within the hour. The enthusiastic broker proclaimed they are offering a 50k credit on 2br, and a 35k credit on 1br condos. Surprisingly, 40% of the 86 units are already in contract. Overall, finishes in the units were top notch, and definitely set the bar high for other upcoming buildings in the Burg. The floor plans had nice usable space unlike the cramped units in 349 Metropolitan Avenue. There is central air/heat, so there is no need for those space robbing stand alone units. High end appliances, recycled glass countertops, sleek bathroom vanities, and dark wood floors were the standout features. The amenities are the typical 24hour doorman, gym, billiards room, laundry, ect. After seeing the sick views from the roof, I was disappointed to learn the costs of these “cabanas”. Like most other buildings, they are charging a ludicrous 30k for 100 square feet of roof “cabana” space. The only good part of that deal is that it includes a stainless steel Webber grill, with gas/water hookup. Bottom line is the building is great, but I don’t think the $803 a square foot is going to fly so well these days.
